Though life was a struggle, Gabriel completed university with a Bachelor of Educational Administration in Cameroon and a few years later immigrated to the US where he secured work in the IT field and later completed a degree at Concord Law School. From Meager Beginnings: The Power of Dedication, Persistence, and Consistency is his first book.

Gabriel “Gabby” Njinimbot

Gabriel Njinimbot (pronounced jinimbot) shares his life story in his debut book that begins in Bali-Nyonga, a small West African Village in Cameroon (West Africa), where Gabriel’s family lived in poverty depending primarily on farm harvests, herding animals, selling peanuts and wood for their livelihood. Though life was a constant struggle, Gabriel made his way from elementary school through college. After graduation from the university in 1997 with a Bachelor of Educational Administration, Gabriel got the rare opportunity to immigrate to the U.S. In the U.S., Gabriel worked at menial jobs while furthering his studies and found his career path in the IT field. His book shares some of the challenges he encountered in the U.S. and offers personal insight into the immigrant experience in the U.S.

Testimonials

I truly enjoyed Mr. Njinimbot’s memoir. His story reminds us that every one of us comes to these United States from “somewhere else” to seek a better life and harvest prosperity. Through Gabriel’s “dedication, persistence, and consistency,” he was able to start with little and become a colossal success, both educationally and professionally, while returning far more to society than he ever borrowed.

This book excavates buried memories of the past, then deconstructs and reconstructs them using simple language and humor. You see your own childhood upbringing through the reflective mirrors in Njinimbot’s narrative.
