Recently published. Its a motivational book with tips and tricks shared by almost every successful person in the world. Its my second book and I am super excited about it. I will be touring around the country and around the world for a book signing and promotion of my two books.
I am looking forward to bigger ventures and exploring bigger horizons. Some people have asked when I am running for office. Some have urged me to run for office to defend the interest of the population because they feel I can better articulate the issues faced by the masses on main street. And I think I share their thoughts about better articulation of the issues people in this country are facing out there. The reason I feel comfortable to support what some of the folks have said is because of some fundamental basics as I articulate below
I am originally from West Africa Cameroon – to some extend, I can comfortably say, I was below main street level. I remember on several instances when we almost didn’t go to school because of financial reasons. I elaborate on this in greater detail in my first book ” from Meager Beginnings – The Power of Dedication Persistence and Consistency” so I can relate with both the students and Parents in America who are sacrificing everything they could to send their children to school despite the tough times. This is what my parents did for me. They Sacrificed over and over again for me and never question the audacity of hope.
In the face of the young students who work two to three jobs while taking on courses to complete and obtain their degree, it reminds me of when I grew up in Cameroon and also worked at a seafood restaurant in college park MD while I struggled to obtaining my Microsoft certificates
In the face of those young people who are either in the country or aspiring to come to America with the sole mission of working to change their lives and that of their families, It reminds me of when I grew up in Cameroon West Africa and thought America was the best and only country in the world in which everything being equal, I can one day be able to achieve my dreams without paying a bribe nor worry of the fear of being summarily taken into custody without an attorney or due process of law for simply expressing my thoughts or view points or simply because I was a black man
When I see women who are still being treated today as second class citizens or for the simple fact that they are females and deprived of their share rights as human beings with unalienable and equal rights and opportunities, it reminds me of a story my mom used to tell me why she was taken out of school because in those days, women weren’t supposed to go to school and were only good for marriage. that shouldn’t be happening today in any part of the world.
In the face of young entrepreneurs, small and minority business owners who struggle to keep their businesses open and pay their are share of taxes, it reminds me of when I opened a small used tire shop in Jessup MD and hired a few Mexicans to help me stay afloat and also help them put food on the table for their own families and send their children to school. All they want is a piece of the American pie
In the face of young students who struggle with Science, Math and technology, I remember when one of my daughters struggled with Math in middle school and instead of ignoring it and blaming it on the system alone, I helped turn off the television and ration her time on social media so she can spend more time on her home work while also encouraging the school system to spend more time on students struggling with these aspects of education.
While I didn’t grow up in neighborhoods plague by gang and gun violence I certainly do sympathize for the thousands of families across this country who for many years have suffered casualties as a result of the ease in which criminals and the mentally ill can lay their hands on bomb stocks and guns. I sympathize with the first graders and families and victims of New Town, Parkland Florida, Orlando etc.
While I have never been to jail, I see how the criminal justice system in some cases have not lived up to the expectations of what the founders of this nation had envision when it came to incarceration. Racial profiling and criminal injustice certainly has no place in a normal America. I see these things.
I certainly hope millions of Americans do not loose hope in the abiding faith of this nation because of the cynicism the current government has portrayed about government. Do not worry if your leaders make fun of the disabled. They too have their day.
so I can go on and on about climate change and the environment, terrorism, foreign policies, jobs, race questions and exploring the final frontier but I like to keep those and more for when the time is right for such discussions.
